Rain, Rain, Rain

Author: Sam

It was stormy and rainy all day today with temperature dropping. Sam took a brief window at about 6pm to make an attempt at the hour record under far from ideal conditions.

Too humid. Too windy. Too cold. Then, after 20min, too wet.

The speed was encouraging with a pace of 90km/h sustained for 2 laps at a reasonable effort. 4 laps completed of the 5 mile track.

lap one: 6:20
lap two: 5:20
lap three: 5:20
Lap four: aborted attempt due to rain and windshield fogging.

Only Thomas in the speedhawk also made an attempt at the same time with slower times and aborted as well.

Sam’s last possible time to try will be Sunday (tomorrow) during the afternoon or evening.

Saw you warming up and the storm clouds rolling in on Sat. evening. Wasn’t looking too promising. Glad everything lined up for you on Sunday; just wish I could’ve been there to see you flying around that lovely track.
